16th Haemostasis User Group
July 8, 2022 - UK
Over 200 customers attended the Haemostasis User Group meeting on the 26th and 27th April 2022. The meeting had been 4 years in the making due to the COVID pandemic - having been twice rescheduled through lockdowns.
This scientific meeting was made up of workshops run by Werfen’s Applications Specialists team and topical presentations from key speakers and Werfen’s customers. The breakout workshops were highly popular and covered Interpretation of Reaction Curves, Quality Control, Troubleshooting the ACL TOP and an “Ask the Team” session.
Following the workshops various presentations were given based on the latest haemostasis innovations and research. Topics covered included the use of Rotem, Measurement of Uncertainty, ADAMTS 13 testing, Haemophilia testing and genetic therapies and for the first time at this event, a presentation was given by a remote speaker over Teams. A presenter from Keele University gave a fascinating insight into how heparin prevents COVID entering human cells and the Team from Royal Liverpool shared their experience in installing the UK’s first HemoCell solution.
HemoCell took centre stage outside of the conference room with delegates able to try walking around laboratories in the virtual world using the PICO 3 headsets to investigate possible HemoCell designs.
The meeting was a huge success with positive response and feedback received from all in attendance complementing the relevant and thought provoking program and hospitality provided by Werfen.
