This assay is designed for the detection of IgA antibodies to the F-Actin component of smooth muscle in human serum. In patients with clinical findings consistent with celiac disease, the presence of anti-F-actin IgA antibodies may assist in estimating the likelihood of significant intestinal vilious atrophy.
