How  Biokit  is driving Operational Excellence in Immunoassay Operations

The immunoassay manufacturing process,which includes everything from the manufacturing of the IVD biomaterial to the final Quality Control activities to obtain the kit ready to ship to the customer, is complex and sometimes challenging. We provide our partners with more than 300 different immunoassay and IVD Biomaterial references that are produced using different manufacturing processes.

In line with Werfen’s philosophy, Biokit fosters an environment of continuous improvement for employees and external collaborators.

Re-thinking process: looking for ways to do things differently

Our Approach

When looking for ways to improve our immunoassay activities and processes, we always ask ourselves if those activities and processes can be optimized. As part of our philosophy of continuous improvement, all Biokit employees are encouraged to identify all those; things that don’t add value to our partners.

Once improvement opportunities have been identified, all our employees are animated to propose projects conceived under a LEAN framework with the purpose of obtaining:

• Lean Processes
• Lean Management
• Lean Organization

Outcomes

In Biokit, Operational Excellence is a continuous process where all employees are encouraged to propose projects. In 2019, 38 projects where created, of which 24 have been completed. So far in 2020, 24 projects have been presented and 19 are currently being implemented.
