Professional Development Program (PDP) Hemostasis and Acute Care Diagnostics

Program Overview:

Designed to provide a unique, accelerated rotational experience, the program provides participants with an in-depth understanding of who we are and what we do here at Werfen that drives our passion for patient care.

 

The two-year program is broken down into four, six-month rotations across select departments and project teams. Your rotational assignments will be customized to support your development and provide you with the knowledge and experience to support a successful and rewarding career with Werfen. 

 

Throughout your program experience, there will be regular discussions with your manager and the Program Lead to help identify options for career paths within Werfen. Unique networking opportunities, exposure to senior leadership and individual career coaching are available to all program participants.  

 

 

Responsibilities

Position Description:

 

The Digital Innovation team at Werfen is looking for a PDP to join their team!

 

The Digital Innovation PDP employee will be responsible for using their skills and knowledge in software development and emerging technologies to contribute to key company projects and assignments throughout their rotational experiences. This may include designing and implementing full-stack solutions, developing Proof of Concept (POC) projects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and improve business operations.

 

Key Responsibilities/Objectives:

  • Work under the direction of a rotational manager within the Digital Innovation team, engaging with rotational leads and mentors to gain an understanding of each department’s areas of responsibility.
  • Design and implement full-stack solutions, including front-end interfaces, back-end systems, and cloud infrastructure components.
  • Develop and transition Proof of Concept (POC) projects into production-ready systems with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including enterprise and cybersecurity architects, data scientists, and business stakeholders, to define requirements and align objectives.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors and external teams to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality solutions.
  • Act as an ambassador for the department(s) amongst the rotational cohort and peers while embracing and championing Werfen values.

 

Knowledge & Experience Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is required.
  • Proficiency in front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.
  • Proficiency in back-end systems, including Node.js, Python, or Java.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful API design.
  • Knowledge of modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with AI and GenAI technologies, with the ability to integrate them into practical, scalable solutions.
  • Familiarity with AI and machine learning frameworks, such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • Understanding of UX principles and best practices for creating user-friendly interfaces.

Candidate Profile:

 

Individuals interested in applying for the Professional Development Program should meet the following criteria:

 

Education:  Undergraduate degree required, Graduate degree desirable

Experience: 0-4 years of professional work experience
