Proceeds will be used to partially repay the financing for the acquisition of Immucor.
Werfen has completed its third bond issue, in an amount of €500Mn, with a 6-year maturity, and oversubscribed more than four times, consolidating the company's presence in the capital markets. The notes are senior unsecured and will be admitted to trading on the regulated market of Euronext Dublin.
As with the 2023 issue, Werfen has obtained an issuer and note rating of BBB- with a stable outlook from Standard & Poor's and BBB- with a positive outlook from Fitch Ratings, positioning Werfen as a solid investment-grade company.
The bond issue was closed at a coupon of 4.25% (issue price: 99.023%) after a two-day investor marketing exercise in which more than 120 accounts participated.
As in the previous issue, the quality of demand and the granularity of the order book ratify the market's confidence in the company as well as the attractiveness of the sector in which Werfen operates (in-vitro diagnostics).
BNP Paribas and HSBC acted as Global Coordinators for the issue, with BBVA, CaixaBank, Bank of America, Citi, Deutsche Bank, Intesa Sanpaolo, J.P. Morgan and MUFG as Bookrunners.
The company has announced that the proceeds from the bond issuance will be used to partially repay the financing for the acquisition of Immucor, the first maturity of which was scheduled for November of this year. In this way, Werfen can soften future debt maturities and maintain a comfortable repayment profile.
