Job Summary

The technical leader of this project has a key role in ensuring an appropriate, secure, safe and sound technical solution for the data reduction software of the Autoinmmunity IFA instruments. His decisions shall drive the project strategy on the technical side and his performance shall allow the project to achieve its milestones in time and quality. His technical vision shall also trascend the CSW software team and reach to autoimmunity stakeholders in the Autoimmunity R&D department as well as the fellow engineers in the (external) hardware and system software manufacturer.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Coordinate all technical activities related to the project with the test team as well as the autoinmunity stakeholders in San Diego.
  • Architecture and Design definition, code implementation and integrity observance
  • Fulfillment of the deadlines and technical and quality objectives set in the schedule and plans.
  • Selection of platforms and development environments, definition and implementation of configuration artifacts and definition and selection of auxiliary tools and utilities.
  • Evaluation of appropriate technical solution and technical reviews of third party technical solutions
  • Mentoring the development and test teams with regards to technological selection (testability, maintainability, automation, etc.)
  • Coordinate with other Werfen groups focused in the Artifical-Intelligence/Machine-Learning/Data-Science fields.
  • Developing software following the values and principles of the agile manifesto
  • Comply with applicable standard operating procedures (SOPs), ISO, FDA, and other applicable Quality System regulations, as well as applicable Environmental Health & Safety, Human Resources and all other regulatory and administrative policies.
  • Follow Werfen values and ethical code

 

Networking/Key relationships

  • Report to project/area manager
  • Day to day work with test team as well as product owner and autoinmunity stakeholders in San Diego (Mostly R&D).
  • Instrument hardware and system manufacturer engineers (External to Werfen).
  • Technical leaders from other projects to establish synergies and collaboration efforts.

 

Minimum Knowledge & Experience required for the position:

  • Master’s Degree in STEM Major (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math)
  • 5 years of experience as SW Development engineer

Management has the discretion of substituting relevant work experience for a degree and/or making exceptions to the years of experience requirement.

 

Skills & Capabilities:

  • Required
    • Good written and verbal communication skills; written and spoken English proficiency and also desireable in local language. Demonstrated strong presentation and speaking skills to a wide range of audiences
    • Proficiency with the following Tools/Languages: C/C+, Python, STL and Boost libraries, TensorFlow, OpenCV, Git, Jenkins, HTML, CSS and Javascript, Angular 2+, REST, GoogleTest
    • Ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Capability of working autonomously as well as to team-work in a highly regulated sector.
    • Agile software development
  • Desireable
    • Proficiency with alternative Tools/Languages to the ones above
    • Knowledge of MD / IVD regulation
    • Knowledge of Artifical Intelligence and Machine Learning
    • Accountability and leadership and soft skills

Travel requirements:

Up to 10% of the time.
