Job Summary

 

This position is responsible for driving strategic communications planning and management of tactical communications programs. This includes omni-channel program creation and production and tracking of tactics, from print and digital advertising, sales promotion to educational and clinical marketing. The Communications Senior Manager leads highly visible projects, including launch campaign development, product and corporate branding initiatives, global congresses and internal communications. A strong tactical decision-maker, the Senior Manager handles unforseen issues effectively, and is a subject-matter expert in both Communications, as well as the products in their respective business lines. The Senior Communications is a people manager, including Communications Associate(s) and Graphic Designer, and contributes to the training of new members of the Communications team. Excellent writing/editing and ability to direct and assess graphic design is esential.

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manages the Worldwide Communications for Hemostasis and/or Acute Care Diagnostics, including Whole Blood Hemostasis and Patient Blood Management Products.
  • Leads development of communication strategies, product positioning, messaging, and product/product line brand identities
  • Leads and Project manages omni-channel tactical programs, on time and on budget
  • Establishes objectives and priorities and delegates assignments to subordinates
  • Directs graphic development for all Communications, based upon sound design principles
  • Manages advertising program and drives media relations for products/company
  • Edits and proofreads manuscripts and graphic layouts for all tactics
  • Liaises with external agencies for execution of Communication tactics and brand development
  • Writes and manages internal communications program
  • Manages key national/global congress presen
  • Contributes to social media presence and website
  • Maintains/manages Communications budgets

Qualifications

Minimum Knowledge and Experience required for the position:

  • Required: Bachelor's or Master's degree in marketing, business, communications or a related discipline.
  • Required: Minimum 7-years' experience in Communications (industry or agency-based).
  • Preferred: Experience in healthcare field a plus, particularly medical diagnostics.
  • Preferred: Experience in people management

Management has the discretion to substitute relevant work experience for a degree and/or make exceptions to the years of experience requirement.

Among others this includes maintaining regular, at minimum once a month, and transparent communication with the team through effective use of formal one-on-one meetings with direct reports and team meets. Managing performance issues and conflict proactively; uses judgement in consulting with department leadership and Human Resources. Responsibility for the team's compliance in terms of training, and fulfilment of their tasks and objectives, as well as onboarding of new employees and development of the existing team.
