Job Summary

To plan and oversee all IT related aspects of a project, and to meet the project’s goals on time and within the defined parameters. It will require you to organise people and tasks; to set priorities and coordinate resources with other key individuals needed to bring projects to completion.

To work closely with the Implementation Manager to ensure alignment of strategies, working practices and tools utilised. Ensure cross over of knowledge and resources on projects that include IT and Werfen IVD portfolio.

To work with the IT Implementation Supervisor and IT Implementation Specialists on a daily basis, distribute responsibilities, plan meetings and manage the group in order to safeguard the support to the sales network at any time.

The IT Project Manager will take care to maintain and, where possible, improve satisfaction to customers during the implementation stage of a new project by providing a high level of service and maximising efficiency.

To plan, coordinate and oversee multiple concurrent projects using existing Werfen project process and tools to detail and coordinate the workflow with all respective involved parties, both internal and external.

This is both a strategic and operational role supporting key organisational objectives. This is a customer facing role, working in conjunction with the Implementation Manager, IT Implementation Specialists, Application Specialists and IT Solutions Architect to facilitate delivery of required projects. The role is split between remote working and being field based with travel to customer premises as required

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage the planning and implementation of IT projects. Maintain all appropriate project deliverables and responsibilities; for example, project scheduling, risk management, change management, issue management, communication plan and status reporting
  • To arrange and chair scheduled internal update meetings to coordinate priorities and set expectations with all relevant teams
  • Support Werfen IT Implementation Specialists, IT Solutions Architect & respective Application Specialists in the installation phase, for the products of their competence
  • Coordinate a group of people and ensure the best use and development of their professional skills
  • Monitor project implementations for accuracy and timeliness to ensure the focus on successfully achieving the project goals
  • Communicate with the customer, internal Werfen staff and third-party representatives to implement the components of the technological solutions supplied
  • Identify the Customer's technical contacts for the implementation of security and remote connectivity technologies
  • Coordinate with sales representatives to identify additional customer needs to propose additional solutions / offers
  • Representation of Werfen UK for IT Project Management, where required, at internal and external meetings, both domestic and worldwide
  • With regards to IT Project Management review current working practice and, where possible, look to improve

Secondary functions:

  • Provide basic training and support of Werfen personnel for areas of expertise and knowledge pertinent to IT Project Management
  • Support the Implementation Manager as required
  • Ensure all pertinent customer information is entered into CRM and updated as necessary.
  • Ensure full compliance to the Werfen code of ethics

Minimum Knowledge & Experience required for the position:

Bachelors level degree in science or IT related field. Project Management qualification both with experience in project management methodology (PRINCE2, Agile, SCRUM, Six Sigma etc.) is preferred but not mandatory. Minimum of three years’ experience in external customer facing implementations and/or project management.

  • Familiarity working in a health care setting or equivalent experience with practical project management/implementation, experience in a related IT field preferred
  • Membership/certification with a professional body is desirable
  • Working knowledge of the health care industry, preferred
  • Knowledge of Office 365
  • Use of project management tools

  • Ability to Author documents, diagrams, and presentations.
  • Collaborative nature, with ability to coordinate projects involving multidiscipline teams
  • Comfortable communicating with and influencing at all levels, both Werfen and Customer organisations
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex planning challenges
  • Laboratory and/or Informatics experience would be preferable
  • Adaptable, positive, and helpful
  • Keen attention to detail

International Mobility:

  • Required: YES, occasionally
  • Attend Werfen local/global meetings and training as required

Travel requirements:

UK wide as required to fulfil the role; typically <30%
