Overview
A DevOps engineer is an IT professional who must have a broad knowledge of both development and operations, including coding, infrastructure management, systems administration and DevOps toolchains. DevOps engineers must also possess interpersonal skills, since as a business partner they collaborate with the different squads in the company that develop software solutions, as well as with other business partners within the company.
DevOps engineers must have a solid understanding of software architecture, CI/CD/CT concepts, but must also have experience with traditional developer toolsets and practices, such as using source code control, performing and receiving code reviews, runing unit tests, and familiarity with agile principles.
Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities
Be a key part of a team where you will:
- Responsible, in coordination with the Squads, for identifying, coordinating, implementing and maintaining automations on repetitive tasks to streamline the software delivery process. This includes automating code builds, testing, deployments and infrastructure provisioning.
- Responsible, in coordination with the Squads, for identifying, coordinating, implementing and maintaining continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD/CT) needs in accordance with specific software lifecycle triggers.
- Identify and promote harmonization on DevOps techniques applied to different solutions.
- Foster the DevOps culture to the Squads to have a better control and quality of the developed software, being the bridge between the squads and other business partners such as QA, CyberSecurity or Service to automate the quality requirements to be met by the solutions.
- Oversee and maintaining DevOps systems, to ensure DevOps services are running as expected in a secure (cybersecurity) environment.
- Contribute to the identification and maintenance of the DevOps environment to ensure alignment with security requirements in the authoring of official releases (for those solutions using it).
- Participate in the design and develop the roadmap of CI/CD/CT DevOps centralization in the company Solutions.
- Participate in the design and develop the roadmap of CI/CD/CT DevOps platforms and tools, as well as the lifecycle of these platforms.
- Coordinate and supervise external DevOps services.
- Participate in general (Werfen-wide) DevOps initiatives.
Networking/Key relationships
- This position requires working closely with all software solutions squads to support CI/CD needs for each solution.
- This position also requires close collaboration with the IT department to coordinate IT hosting and networking required in the deployment of DevOps solutions.
- This position also requires close collaboration and coordination with other DevOps departments from other Werfen manufacturing companies.
- In addition, it also works with external DevOps tools providers to enhance the specialization and quality of the services provided.

Qualifications
Minimum Knowledge & Experience required for the position:
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years as a DevOps Engineer.
Additional Knowledge:
- Familiarity and understanding of the DevOps Tool Chain
- Knowledge with git and workflows.
- Working knowledge in Continuous Integration including deep knowledge in Jenkins, Artifactory and SonarQube.
- Good knowledge of Configuration Management & Deployment automation.
- Knowledge with Containers and Infrastructure Orchestration.
- Knowledge in observability techniques and tools.
- Knowledge on operating systems and its configuration as well as virtualization and containers.
- Excellent understanding of Agile methodolgies.
Desirable:
- Knoledege in Cyber-security by design technics.
- Knowledge and experience working with medical device international regulations and related standards (ISO 13485, ISO 14971,..).
- Knowledge and experience working in Medical device software life cycle process (IEC 62304)
