Overview

Job Summary

 

Major manufacturing duties include assistance with the activities required to produce ELISA calibrators, controls, and conjugates.

 

Responsibilities

Accountabilities:

  • Participates in the activities associated with the manufacturing of ELISA reagents such as control, calibrator and HRP conjugate components in accordance with established procedures and schedules. 
  • Participates in the evaluation of in-process components and finished reagents associated with ELISA products according to written procedures. 
  • Ensures supplies, testing components, raw materials and equipment required to meet manufacturing schedules are available. Alerts the supervisor of any material shortages, potential expiration date problems, equipment requirements and/or other circumstances, which may cause delays in the planned, manufacturing schedule.
  • Maintains detailed Device History Records and/or any associated documentation for all manufacturing activities in accordance with current Quality Systems Regulations (QSRs).
  • Assists with the evaluation of raw materials associated with ELISA products.
  • Assists with SAP inventory transactions as requested by supervisor 
  • Prepares, operates, and cleans laboratory equipment used in the manufacture of ELISA reagent products according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). 
  • Informs supervisor of equipment needs and other supplies required to avoid interruptions in production schedules. Informs supervisor of broken or deteriorating equipment.
  • Maintains work area and laboratory in a clean and orderly manner. Performs Friday Clean-up responsibilities in a thorough and timely manner.
  • Follows established safety and environmental procedures. Reports all safety hazards immediately.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or (B.S.), in the biological or related sciences with 0-2 years of applicable ELISA laboratory experience.
  • Certificate Program or A.S. degree with 2-3 years applicable ELISA laboratory experience.
  • Relevant work experience in an ELISA laboratory of 3-4 years may be substituted for a degree.
  • Basic laboratory skills including solution preparation, ELISA manufacturing procedures and laboratory equipment operation.
  • Knowledge of biological and chemical laboratory procedures.
  • Ability to operate basic laboratory equipment.
  • Knowledge of QSR, FDA and ISO regulations.
  • Knowledge of computer operation with the ability to use MicrosoftÒ Word and Excel.

Salary Range:

$24/hr - $29/hr

 

Individual compensation is based on the candidate's experience, skills, knowledge, education, certifications, internal equity, budget and or other business and organizational needs.
