About the Position

Job Summary

Responsible for ensuring that the business unit is meeting strategical and quantitative goals that contribute to the overall success of the business.

Key Accountabilities

  • Defines the objectives and the strategy for the Business Unit.
  • Plans the different Marketing activities (congresses, Stands, Work-Shops, product launches, scientific sessions, etc...), managing the corresponding budget.
  • Participates in the preparation of the Budget and take co-responsibility on their achievement, following-up the sales and margins, as well as a control of the expenditures side (ATG's, travel expenses and Marketing).
  • Develops and controls the OI's budgets (investments) of the BU.
  • Supervises the profitability of commercial operations and customers. Makes corrective proposals in case of deviations.
  • Supervises the development of the tenders, both the technical and economic part.
  • Responsible of finding new business opportunities
  • Ensures the compliance of the quality system requirements: procedures, audits, to implement corrective actions, etc.
  • Selects the staff that integrates their Business Unit, carry out their evaluation and fix the remuneration (fixed, variable and awards) in accordance with the remuneration policy of the Company.
  • Along with the AM, selects the goals to achieve in each Area, aligned with the strategic lines of the Company, collaborating in the design of the actions that will lead to its achievement
  • Mantains a close relationship with the different KOLs, carries out visits to customers and encourages collaboration agreements, in coordination with the corresponding AM.
  • Controls the right training level of the different members of the Business Unit as well as of the sales network.
  • Maintains a high level of motivation, encouraging the teamwork.
  • Regarding their team, distributes responsibilities, plans meetings and manages the group in order to safeguard the support to the sales network at any time.
  • Searches constantly the organizational improvement for their Business Unit.
  • Participates in innovation forums that guarantee the continuous evolution of the BU.
  • Is updated with the technological innovations that can be applied to the processes and products of the BU.
  • Ensures compliance with Werfen Code of Ethics.

Minimum Knowledge & Experience required for the position:

  • Education
  • Bachelor´s Degree in Medicine (MD), Microbiology, Pharmacology, Medical Technology or related clinical discipline, desired in infectious diseases
  • Additional degree in business administration, marketing, or equivalent preferred
  • Experience
  • Minimum three years’ experience in the IVD field
  • Experience related with clinical microbiology laboratory valuable
  • Experience related with ER, ICU and primary care valuable
