Job Summary

To coordinate the Marketing department at a strategic level (present and future), guaranteeing that the strategy defined is implemented with efficiency in order to obtain the planned results, or even better than expected. Besides strategy, also communication, events’ organization and the diversity & inclusion pillar are part of the responsibilities of this role in Colombia.

As a people’s manager, the Marketing Director needs to create an innovative and reliable environment within the team, maintaining priorities well-defined, the needed level of flexibility for the day to day business issues and with a sound customer focus.

 

Key Accountabilities

•     Definition of the marketing strategy, present and future, based on Werfen's global strategy and the local needs and objectives.

•     To work close to the Business Unit Managers (BUM) participating in the definition and monitoring the implementation of the strategy of each of the business units (BU).

•     To monitor and to guide regarding some tactics in order to guarantee a healthy margin for each BU, in line with (or above) the budget.

•     To participate, together with the BUMs, Sales team, in the pricing strategy and product positioning.

•     Continuous analysis of the competitive environment and customer trends.

•     To prepare and monitor the annual marketing budget, taking into account the company's needs and strategic objectives, for example, deciding which events we should participate, support or sponsor.

•     To manage the Marketing team, ensuring the motivation, efficiency, commitment and professionalism of all the team members.

•     To work closely with the sales team, helping them to achieve commercial goals, providing the appropriate tools and materials and following up on meetings with direct customers and distributors.

•     To have a strong network and interaction with the worldwide strategic business units (SBUs) of Werfen, sharing with them the main goals, the trends and the needs of the Colombian market.

•     As a member of the brazilian Management team, to participate in meetings, analysis and decisions, taking into account the best for the company, its employees and customers.

•     To guarantee that the internal and external communication follows Werfen’s corporate guidelines and covers the affiliate needs.

•     To strengthen the diversity & inclusion pillar in Colombia with a proper strategy and proper actions.

•     Always be close to local KOLs and create reliable professional relationships.

Minimum Knowledge & Experience required for the position:

Education:

  • MBA or similar is an asset (not mandatory)
  • Business, Marketing or Scientific (Biology, Pharmacy, Biomedicine, Biochemistry or similar) University Degree

Work experience:

  • Over 4 years of experience in Marketing or a mix in Marketing and Sales
  • Previous experience as a people’s manager
  • Previous Healthcare business (Pharma, Medical Devices or IVD) experience is a plus (not mandatory)

Trainings/others:

Knowledgeable in Microsoft office (excel, powerpoint, word, others)

Languages:

  • English: Intermediate/Advanced/Fluent (minimum B2 in the international standards)

Travel requirements:

•      30-50% of the time, depending on the needs.

People Manager Accountabilities:

Effectively carries out the expectations of Werfen People Managers as defined in Werfen’s Role of the Manager program. Among others this includes maintaining regular, at minimum once a month, and transparent communication with the team through effective use of formal one-on-one meetings with direct reports and team meets. Managing performance issues and conflict proactively; uses judgement in consulting with department leadership and Human Resources. Responsibility for the team´s compliance in terms of training, and fulfilment of their tasks and objectives as well as onboarding of new employees and development of the existing team.
