Position Summary

The position reports to the VP of Commercial Operations of LATAM. General Manager Latam Distribution, is responsible for finding, creating, and consolidating business opportunities in Latam Countries in which Werfen commercializes products through Distributors.    Based upon Werfen´s Value Selling Framework the position holder, should increase the Distributors Commercial Capabilities and develop a proposal to expand Werfen´s Blueprint in all countries of responsibility.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop Budget, Forecast, and 3-year plan with Leadership Team and Finance.
  • Develop short-term and mid-term business strategies aligned with corporate strategy.
  • Maximize local performance by translating the strategy into specific action plans that will drive results. Allocates resources accordingly.
  • Responsible for the whole P&L of the affiliate.
  • Is very commercial-oriented – enjoys building and maintaining strong partnership relationships with important customers, opinion leaders, and decision-makers.
  • Supports the executive team of the affiliate when it comes to closing important deals or negotiating tough agreements.
  • Dedicate quality time with customers including as much traveling as needed: visiting them, discussing with them, understanding their needs, and gathering a good sense of the fit between customers’ needs and Werfen´s portfolio of solutions.
  • Is an expert on market trends, and well-versed in the economical-social-political environment of the country.
  • Is one of the Legal Representative of Werfen in Colombia as support LR Colombia
  • Invests a great deal of his/her time in communicating, both internally and externally. Organizes and chairs frequent meetings both with direct reports and with the entire organization through townhall meetings.
  • Should frequently think about the efficiency and productivity of the company in terms of structure, positions, roles, responsibilities, reporting relationships, and taking into consideration the fast-changing environment in which the affiliate operates.
  • Should challenge the organization to look for new solutions and market approaches that provide a competitive advantage.
  • Ensure corporate projects and initiates are implemented in the affiliate such as CRM, SABA, Performance Management, Talent Management, Value Selling, Strategic Selling methodologies, etc.
  • Plays a key role in establishing and growing company values and following the code of ethics.
  • Facilitate and integrate strategic and organizational efforts between the legal entity and the subsidiaries located in Colombia & Latam Distribution.

Internal Networking/Key relationships:

The position requires cooperating with Company departments at the Corporate level such as Finance, Strategic Business Units, Services, Logistics, Corporate Communication, and Corporate HR, and others colleagues of the commercial organization for the successful execution of the market strategy and also to share best practices.

Min Knowledge & Experience required for the position:

  • BS in Science or Business-related field. A MBA is a plus.
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of business-related experience within Healthcare Industries (IVD preferably), other industries to be considered as Pharma and Medical Devices.
  • Excellent grasp of profitability concepts and P&L influencers
  • Sales and Marketing background
  • Intimate with Customer dynamics.
  • Company products, solutions, and services in terms of impact on the customer’s value chain (Clinical, Economical, Organizational).
  • Fluent in English and Spanish
  • Computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, and other corporate tools.
