About the Position

Job Summary

The VerifyNow Regional Clinical Consultant will be responsible for improving the level of scientific product knowledge in the areas of "neuroradiology" (70%) and "cardiovascular operating rooms (CVOR)" (30%) in Spain, Portugal and Italy. He will promote latest clinical practices and key medical strategies, and will work in accordance with the highest ethical and professional standards, guidelines, and directives. The role is that of a medical-scientific, technical expert who maintains relationships with important medical experts, opinion leaders and other interest groups (such as the pharmaceutical industry and device manufacturers).

Key Accountabilities

  • Prepares significant scientific information for customers and makes this available to them; trains customers in the clinical use of VerifyNow
  • Establishes close relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), other clinical experts, reference centers, and other interest groups within the defined regions
  • Discusses scientific and clinical aspects with the various interest groups in the areas of "Neuroradiology" and "Cardiology"
  • Defines a network of experts; supports organizations and their meetings to exchange and disseminate protocols and clinical knowledge
  • Supports branches in the organization of workshops and seminars at national congresses and conferences
  • Builds networks and close relationships with national and international societies for neurointervention, anesthesiology, and cardiac surgery, with the aim of having thrombocyte function testing included in guidelines, directives, and further recommendations
  • Promotes clinical trials for VerifyNow and supports their publication in specialist journals
  • Supports clinical marketing, clinical sales, application specialists, and other internal roles in terms of scientific activities (e.g. by communicating the latest scientific updates following congresses or other similar events)
  • Plays a key role in supporting scientific activities in order to encourage relationships between companies and complementary industries (e.g. manufacturers of medical products, pharmaceutical industry)

Minimum Knowledge & Experience required for the position:

Education: 

  • University Degree in life sciences or equivalent
  • Deep knowledge in hemostasis in general with specific expertise in platelet aggregation.
  • Candidates with deep knowledge of interventional neuroradiology will also be considered.

Experience: 

  • Minimum 5 years of clinical practice experience and/or business related experience in the areas of hematology (platelet aggregation) or neuroradiology.
  • Proven experience in research and/or clinical trials and scientific publications.

Languages:

  • Fluent English is mandatory.
  • Fluent Spanish and Italian. Strong candidates committed to achieve fluent Italian or spanish within 3 years will be also considered.
  • Portuguese will be considered a plus.

Skills & Capabilities:

  • Knowledge of scientific concepts related to the design and analysis of clinical trials and studies.
  • Data Management and Informatics: with specific focus on how data are acquired and managed during a clinical trials.
  • Capability to present clearly and effectively.
  • Strong ability to train and teach customers and Werfen specialists.
